August 2016...
We are official! – The newest West Australian kids on the block.  The Inner Wheel Club of Geraldton send greetings far and wide to all those friends we are yet to meet.   On Saturday August 20 amongst nearly 100 Inner Wheel friends and family from near and far,  National  President  Marilyn  Armstrong welcomed members, brought greetings  from  the  International President and made the official declaration.
The Rotary Club of the Batavia Coast officially sponsored the establishment of the Inner Wheel Club of Geraldton with   president   Chris   Edwards presenting the inaugural president, Helen Harrison with the official collar and jewel.
“The establishment of a new club is thrilling. It gives ladies of all ages an opportunity to have links in the community that they would not necessarily have made through their work or sport.  It is a great network of friends just waiting to be made.” Enthused Mrs Harrison.
On behalf of Geraldton members, President Helen extended her appreciation to clubs who sent greetings and warm welcomes to the Inner Wheel organization and for all the wonderful gifts which were presented on the night by representatives of clubs from across WA. The laughter and story swopping made the charter night extra special.
All Geraldton IW members worked diligently to prepare for the evening.  It is unusual to single out one member, however, special mention needs to be made for foundation member,  Lil Pratt.  Lil prepared the thank you gifts for all attendees – a gift  bag with  jars of  home  cooked plum jam and tomato chutney.   With  her unquenchable desire to present the Midwest to visitors, Lil also sourced wildflowers to decorate the tables and the room in general which set the tone for the wonderful celebrations.
Geraldton is looking forward to extending their membership base of 20 over the coming year.  Exciting times are ahead commencing with a presentation by author  Linda J Bettenay at  the October meeting.
The Inner Wheel Club of Geraldton meets at 6pm on the second Wednesday of the month in the meeting room at the   Camel Bar,  Chapman Road, Geraldton.

Excitement bubbled to the surface in the Midwest of WA with the inaugural meeting of Inner Wheel Geraldton on the 2 April 2016.  Commencing with 14 foundational members and under the mentoring of the inaugural president Helen Harrison, the members joined in the national Coin for Cord fundraising day at a local shopping centre.  Also on display and a focal point of conversation were the Days for Girls packs. Visitors, both men and women, to the stall were unaware of the challenges of girls in third world countries in attending school and in fact being in public during their time of menstruation.  ……..the education provided by Inner Wheel on issues such as this has now commenced in Geraldton.

Inner Wheel Geraldton played an active roll in the 2016 Centacare Volunteer Expo held in partnership with the City of Greater Geraldton by providing an information stall and the catering for the 25 plus stall holders and visitors to the QEII Seniors & Community Centre in May.
The Charter night for Inner Wheel Geraldton will be on Saturday 20 August, 2016.  What a wonderful opportunity for you to visit our fair city as well as take the opportunity to take trips into the beautiful Midwest to see the WA wildflowers, Coalseam and Kalbarri National Park toname a few destinations.
In preparation for this special evening (to  subsidise costs) the Club has partnered with the Waggrakine-Glenfield Progress Association to hold a Christmas in July with all the trimmings and…………..the Rock and Roll Club to provide the much needed exercise after the sumptuous meal.
